Schottel’s Turkish subsidiary, Schottel Turkey, has a new MD, Seçkin Uz, who was appointed from 1 January 2022.
After earning a degree in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, he began his career with Berg Propulsion in the Asia/Pacific and Middle East region. Upon joining Caterpillar Marine as MD for the entities in Dubai and Istanbul, he gained knowledge and capabilities in the fields of market development, new sales, technical sales and after sales service. In his recent positions, he gained additional insights into the shipowner and operator side, as well as shipbuilding.
Schottel has had a large customer base in Turkey since the 1970s. In January 2019, the Istanbul-based subsidiary was launched, which has become well established thanks to its customer proximity in one of the world’s most important shipping centres.
