ODFJELL GAINS RECOGNITION FOR GHG REDUCTION

Jul 25, 2024 | Maritime business news

Norwegian shipping company Odfjell has been included in the 2024 ‘Europe’s Climate Leaders’ report compiled by the UK’s Financial Times  for 2024.

The substantial report and analysis, conducted by the Financial Times and Statista, honours companies excelling in reducing core GHG emissions relative to revenue.

The Europe’s Climate Leaders Special Report identifies top performers through a complex evaluation process. Thousands of European companies were assessed, undergoing a review of individual climate-related commitments and collaborations, including partnerships with the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project) and SBTi (Science-Based Targets initiative). The analysis highlights companies that not only effectively reduce emissions but also demonstrate strong climate leadership and commitment. Through this meticulous process, Odfjell says it has earned its place among FT Europe’s Climate Leaders.

Chief Sustainability Officer Øistein Jensen said: “Odfjell’s recognition as one of Europe’s Climate Leaders reflects our dedication to sustainability and our ongoing efforts to minimise our environmental impact from our direct emissions to our value chain emissions, and to be transparent in our reporting. We are pleased to be acknowledged for our achievements and remain committed to driving further progress in our environmental initiatives.”
