Oct 8, 2024 | Marine environment & clean shipping news

Norwegian shipping company Klaveness has become the 65th partner in the Global Maritime Forum (GMF), bringing its experience and commitment to building resilient, decarbonised, and efficient seaborne supply chains.

Adding the data-driven and safety-focused shipping group as a partner reinforces GMF’s belief that overcoming the challenges faced by the maritime industry requires collaboration and collective action.

GMF director of partnerships and community engagement, Christian Jacob Hansen, said: “After many years of close collaboration, we are excited to welcome Klaveness further into our growing community, taking them from an engaged member to an official partner. Their commitment to innovation and sustainability supports our mission to shape the future of global seaborne trade and increase sustainable long-term economic development and human well-being. At the Global Maritime Forum, we bring together forward-thinking leaders to address the maritime industry’s most pressing challenges, from decarbonisation to improving the quality of life at sea. By bringing Klaveness into our network, we further strengthen our ability to foster dialogue, spark innovative ideas, and create concrete solutions for the future. I am delighted to work even more closely with Ernst Meyer and his team.”

Ernst Meyer, President and CEO, Klaveness said: “We are very pleased to join the Global Maritime Forum, a step that aligns closely with our vision to improve the nature of shipping. This membership offers an invaluable opportunity to both share and gain insights into how we can, as an industry, create more resilient, decarbonised, and cost-effective seaborne supply chains. We firmly believe that the challenges we face in the shipping industry cannot be tackled in isolation. Collaboration is key, and the Global Maritime Forum provides the ideal platform to accelerate progress by working alongside other committed organisations. We look forward to the collective achievements that lie ahead as we work together toward a more efficient and sustainable future.”
