Swedish naval architecture practice FKAB Marine Design has received an order for the basic and detail design packages for four 49,000 dwt MR tankers., with an option for up to four additional vessels.
The ships will be built at Penglai Zhongbai Jinglu Ship Industry Co in China. This design specification is based on high quality requirements and with a focus on low environmental impact, long-term operation, high flexibility, and very low fuel consumption, using FKAB’s proven hull lines with the low-resistance F-Bow.
FKAB will be involved in both basic design and detail design, through FKAB’s Sweden and China offices.
