FIFTH EDDA WIND CSOV ORDER GOES TO GONDAN

Feb 4, 2022 | Shipbuilding & ship repair news

Edda Wind, a company founded by the Norwegian Østensjø Group, has added an additional order with Gondan Shipbuilders of Spain for a CSOV (Commissioning Service Operation Vessel), which will be the fifth vessel of the series currently under construction and the seventh project commissioned to the shipyard by the Norwegian shipowner for the renewable energy sector.

The vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design of Norway, will be part of Edda Wind’s environmentally friendly and efficient vessels fleet, and will provide services in offshore wind farms. Since 2015, Gondan has been involved in seven projects for the offshore renewable energy sector, a growing industry in which the shipyard considers itself to be at the forefront in the integration of the most complex and efficient technological solutions for the sector.

With this new contract Gondan consolidates the close relationship with the Norwegian group – immersed in a determined fleet expansion plan for which it counts on Gondan as a reliable supplier – with five vessels currently under construction. Once this CSOV is delivered it will be the 18th vessel ordered by companies related with the Østensjø Group, including seven Edda Wind vessels ordered in the last 20 years.
