According to marine electronics company Radio Holland, the maritime industry is grappling with the challenges posed by the global climate crisis.
New stringent regulations on emission reporting are introduced yearly, and this trend shows no signs of abating, so ensuring that any fleet aligns with sustainable standards is now more critical than ever. Effective 1 January 2024, all vessels above 5000gt are mandated to report their emissions, coinciding with the implementation of the EU-ETS on the same date.
Radio Holland has introduced +Logbook with an integrated emission reporting system, giving users of Radio Holland’s +Logbook access to the OceanPass emission reporting system. This reporting system is said to be intuitive and to empower users to make informed, sustainable decisions that contribute to safeguarding the climate and environment.
By inputting basic data such as fuel consumption and distance sailed, the emission reporting system automates the creation of emissions reports, consolidating all relevant data in one central location. The system generates key emissions indices, including CII, EEXI, EEOI, AER, Poseidon, and Sea Charter, meeting the requirements of all stakeholders. Daily data input is said to ensure reports offer valuable insights to sustainably, and commercially optimise investments.
