US Robotics company Greensea IQ’s EverClean ‘Always Clean’ hull management service for commercial vessels is claimed to offer emissions savings of 6.4% with corresponding cuts in fuel consumption.
Greensea IQ is now offering an enhancement to the service with the launch of EverClean IQ, which provides new insights into vessel condition below the waterline by harnessing data collected during the cleaning operations. Using multiple sensors and cameras the robot cleaning machine accumulates data on the ships while they are being serviced. The robots incorporate a system for recording brush pressure feedback, which the EverClean IQ system can cross reference with prior readings on the same area of the hull, which is confirmed by the robot’s accurate hull relative navigation system.
EverClean IQ manages the data, and processes it into concise reports for customers allowing users to see how the hull is changing over time by reporting on hull condition via a single interface.
EverClean IQ aims to to build a comprehensive data set on ship hull fouling, instigating a worldwide transition towards a universally embraced standard of always clean, and environmentally safe hulls. This includes establishing the framework for a digital validation process of clean hulls, enabling vessel owners to make more accurate and informed decisions about maintenance and performance.
EverClean customers are said to have reduced carbon emissions by 6.4%, offering significant financial savings potential for improved CII ratings, with 90% of customers achieving a return on investment within 30 days.
