MORE METHANOL-FUELLED ENGINE ORDERS FOR MITSUI

Mitsui E&S has received an order from Tsuneishi Shipbuilding of Hiroshima for four units of the first domestic model of the Mitsui-MAN B&W 6G80ME-C10.5-LGIM-EGRTC, a methanol-fuelled engine.

With this order, Mitsui E&S has received orders for a Total of 10 methanol-fuelled engines from TSUNEISHI SHIPBUILDING, including six of the G50ME-C9.6-LGIM type, and this G80 model is an even larger engine (Piston bore 80 cm, Maximum continuous output: 28,260 kW (38,400 bhp) at 72 rpm than the previous G50ME-C9.6-LGIM. In order to meet the needs of its customers, Mitsui E&S says it has been enhancing its production facilities since 2022 in order to support the conversion of large marine engines to dual fuel, and is building an organisation to provide a stable supply of dual fuel engines.

As a marine propulsion system supplier, Mitsui E&S says it will continue to contribute to the realisation of a low-carbon and decarbonised society.
