To reflect Ecochlor’s growing business following the EcoOne IMO and USCG Type Approval, the company has promoted David Swindells to Director of Sales and Marketing and Panos Smyroglou to VP Sales and Marketing.
Swindells (pictured) will directly oversee and assist the Regional Business Development Managers (RBDMs) and assist in setting short- and long-term goals for the sale of Ecochlor’s BWMSs by developing strategies, activities and benchmark goals for the Team’s sales cycles. Since joining the company in 2021, he has been instrumental in driving new business to Ecochlor within North America, focusing on a new market segment ─ ATB and offshore support vessels – and has created sales directives and goals as Brand Manager for Bio-Sea UV.
CEO Andrew Marshall said: “From the first day with us, David has jumped into his role at Ecochlor at full capacity. He immediately displayed an ability to lead as well as develop sales and profitability strategies to further assist our RBDMs. He gives 100% to assisting our client-base and prospective customers while guiding them through researching BWMSs in order to attain the best possible outcome for their ships. I support David wholeheartedly in this new position and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will have on our Team.”
In the other new appointment, Smyroglou will oversee the global sales team, manage major client accounts, and develop strategies to increase revenue growth and profitability while enhancing and supporting customer relations and new acquisitions. In his prior position as Director of Business Development, Smyroglou established the Ecochlor office in Athens, while as part of the EcoOne regulatory team, he managed and expedited shipboard testing for the IMO and USCG Type Approval of Ecochlor’s filterless BWMS.
Marshall said: “Mr Smyroglou has been a key part of our success this year and we are thrilled to promote him to this very important position. He has a proven track record of international business development and is committed to ensuring our clients receive the extraordinary sales support they require for their vessel’s BWMS.”
