J-ENG PROVIDES ENHANCED ECO-ENGINE TRAINING

Apr 6, 2022 | Marine propulsion & machinery news

Japanese engine builder and licensor Japan Engine Corporation (J-Eng) has opened a new facility to provide UE engine training within the company’s main factory.

The UE engine training centre has a lecture room, a training room for practical work, an Eco engine training room and a workshop. The centre is equipped with displays and web site facilities in order to realise web-based training. The training centre will be used for ship crew and supervisors of ship management companies by providing lecture/practical maintenance work and simulated operation of the Eco engine to support safe operation of vessels.

The new facility will contribute to an enhanced worldwide after-sales service network by providing regular and higher quality training to Authorised Repair Agents, which will improve their after-sales service abilities.

The training service will be available for not only UE customers but also domestic and overseas licensees to support them through technical assistance for diversifying latest technologies. Especially web based training for the new Chinese licensees can support their start-up activities. Boosting UE family companies’ ability for technological potential and after-sales responsiveness will be expected.

Furthermore, this training centre will be used for training in the next-generation ammonia-fuelled and hydrogen-fuelled engines, to help eliminate emissions throughout the engines’ operation and maintenance.
