AI SOLUTIONS OFFERED TO IMPROVE EMISSIONS PERFORMANCE

Feb 20, 2025 | Marine electronics & digitalisation news

SmartSea, (powered by air transport technology solutions provider SITA) and Digital Energy AI have formed a strategic partnership aimed at applying AI to enhance operational efficiency, predictive analytics, and standardisation in the marine and offshore energy sectors.

By integrating AI-driven analytics, real-time monitoring, and predictive maintenance, the partnership will offer innovative solutions that enable shipowners and operators to optimise fuel consumption, lower emissions, and comply with ever-evolving environmental regulations.

Julian Panter, CEO SmartSea, said: “Our partnership with Digital Energy AI marks a significant milestone in our commitment to driving sustainability in the maritime industry. By harnessing the power of AI, we can provide shipowners with real-time insights and actionable strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.”

Carsten Sonne-Schmidt, Managing Partner Digital Energy AI, added: “I am excited about our collaboration with SmartSea. The synergy between our capabilities, footprint, and offerings is genuinely complementary, providing our clients with significantly amplified impact. Standardisation is the key to unlocking AI’s full potential. By streamlining data management and ensuring interoperability between different systems, this partnership will make AI adoption more impactful and accessible across the offshore industry.”

As the maritime industry faces increasing pressure to adopt greener practices, both companies expect to play a crucial role in delivering scalable and intelligent energy management solutions. By enabling faster decisions, enhancing efficiency, and tackling challenges like data quality, AI is expected to help organisations reduce costs, lower emissions, and achieve scalable solutions.

SmartSea says it provides a one-stop-shop for maritime technology solutions. Modules in its integrated maritime management platform range from crew management, planned maintenance and insurance to operations and inspections. Drawing from aviation experiences, SmartSea will use SITA’s expertise to drive innovation, efficiency and sustainability in maritime operations.

Digital Energy AI, considered one of the first AI companies in the energy industry, has successfully introduced solutions that optimise operations, predict outcomes, and improve decision-making across the energy value chain.
