SWEDISH MARINE ELECTRIFICATION COMPANY EXPANDS TO NORWAY

Swedish company Echandia, a developer of battery systems for maritime electrification,has established a Norwegian office, and appointed Roy Storeng as leader for business development in Norway.

Echandia operates in zero-emission energy solutions for heavy-duty maritime electrification, with customers in Europe, Asia, and Oceania, including Cochin Shipyards, building a large fleet of electric ferries in India, and Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards. Its new Norwegian venture is considered an important milestone for Echandia on its continued growth journey, with Norway seen as a key market, having some 36% of the total number of fully electrified vessels. 

Storeng (pictured) has an extensive background in the maritime and transport industry in Norway, with experience in business development at Wärtsilä, GE Transportation and Bertel O Steen.
